Mr. Piyush Goyal is a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Maharashtra and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is an investment banker,a management consultant and is actively involved with several trade and industry associations and social organisations. He is a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on finance and consultative committee for the ministry of defence. He is on the managing committee of Indian Merchants Chamber and is an active Rotarian.
Mr Goyal was the youngest independent director of the State Bank of India. Prior to this, he was an independent director of Bank of Baroda from 2001 to 2004. He was also a member of the Task Force for Interlinking of Rivers during 2002–04.
He is a qualified chartered accountant and law graduate. Mr Goyal secured the second rank across India in the CA examination (1987) as well as in the LLB examination in Mumbai University (1987).
